Antigua St John's - The police destroyed over $1.4 M worth of drugs on Wednesday at the Burma Dump.
The operation, supervised by Chief Magistrate Jo-Anne Walsh, saw officers from the Narcotics Department, supported by the Special Operations (OP’s) Unit, destroyed in excess of 665 pounds of cannabis, and over 3 kilos of Cocaine.
Six hundred and fifty-two 652 lbs pounds of cannabis, which comprised of 14,600 cannabis plants; 64 lbs pounds of the compressed plant, along with 2 kilos 204.6 grams of cocaine, came from the police, as drugs that were recently seized.
The remaining 13.4 pounds of cannabis and 1 kilo of cocaine came from court cases that had been disposed of.
The overall value of cannabis destroyed was $1,330, with $112,481.00 worth of cocaine.
