Infant Hospitalized with Second Degree Burns‬

Police reportAntigua St John's - The Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an incident, where a 4-year-old infant of Ottos suffered second degrees burn to her body.

The infant is now receiving medical treatment at the Mount St. Johns Medical Center.

The alleged incident took place around 9:15pm on Sunday, after the infant reportedly fell backwards into a pot with hot water; which was left on the kitchen floor.

The child was subsequently taken to the hospital, and according to doctors’ reports, the injuries are very serious and life threatening.

The infant suffered second-degree burns to her back, chest, and the lower parts of her body; which were left without the epidermis.

Doctors also reported that, taking into consideration the nature of the injuries, they are guarding against certain risk factors which normally surround such injuries, such as; fluid management, risk of infection, and pain management.



The Police are continuing their investigations into the matter.


Meanwhile, the Police are investigating a report of Breaking and Larceny where some unknown person(s) allegedly broke into the St. John’s Lutheran Church and School located at Radio Range, and stole a number of items.

The alleged incident took place sometime between 7pm on Saturday, and 8am Monday, after the intruder(s) entered the building and stole one Lakewood Wall Fan, a quantity of textbooks, an electric coffee pot, two Intel Computer Monitors, and CPUs, among other items.

The Police are continuing their investigations into the matter, and are appealing to anyone with information to contact the Criminal Investigation Department at 462-3913\14; or call Crime Stoppers at 800-Tips (8477).
