Wanted Man Captured by ONDCP

Antigua St John's - On Tuesday 02nd May 2012 the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP) apprehended 35yr old Otnell Roberts of Bolans Village.

Roberts was wanted in connection with a previous seizure comprising of over 357lbs of cannabis, at an estimated street value of seven hundred fifteen thousand two hundred twenty Eastern Caribbean Dollars (715,220.00EC).
 
The previous seizure occurred in the month of March, 2012 when ONDCP officers converged on the area of the drug trafficking activity (Old Road), when Roberts eluded capture.

He will be charged with possession of cannabis, possession of cannabis with intent to supply, importation of cannabis, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and drug trafficking.

Roberts will appear before a Magistrate on Friday 04th May, 2012.
 
Marvin Carlisle who was previously charged in connection with the same drug trafficking activity is presently on remand and will have his committal hearing on 10th July, 2012.
 
Roberts is presently on bail for another ONDCP drug related matter committed in 2009, where over 792lbs of cannabis was seized.

Five other persons were also arrested in this matter, two of whom were Vincentians who pled guilty and were sentenced to 18 months in prison on June 10th 2011 after which they will be deported, and the remaining three who are Antiguans are presently on bail awaiting trial.
