Antigua St John's - The police are investigating a wounding that left a 21 year old from the Dominican Republic nursing cutlass wounds at the Mount St John's Medical Center.
The incident took place early Sunday evening after the police and the EMS were summoned to a bar on Joseph Lane, where 21-year-old Joban Santana of the Dominican Republic was attacked and severely wounded by a fellow national armed with a cutlass.
The victim had reportedly been sitting at the bar when a man walked up to him, pulled a cutlass from his waist, and began chopping him.
Three fingers from his left hand were completely severed, while two others were wounded. He also got a cut to the right forearm.
He was subsequently rushed to the hospital by the EMS, where doctors reported that although the wounds are serious, they were not life threatening.
Meanwhile, the police are investigating a car fire near the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium last Saturday at around 10:45 pm.
