Structful Charged With Murder

Antigua St John's - The police have charged Kurt "Structful" Edwards, of Cooks Extension, with murder.

Charges were laid late Thursday, according to a release.

Edwards turned himself in at the police station on Tuesday, accompanied by his attorney, Sherffield Bowen.

He is charged with the murder of 22-year-old Kadeem Lewis of George Street, Greenbay.

Lewis was shot in the head at close range, not far from his home, on March 24. He later died in the Intensive Care Unit at the Mount St John's Medical Center.

Edwards is due to appear before the court next week.

The police are also investigating two reports of wounding that left two people hospitalised.
 
The first was at around 9 am on Wednesday, when a 44-year-old man from Sea View Farm was allegedly chopped several times in the head by a fellow villager armed with a cutlass.

The men reportedly had an argument in the lead-up to the wounding.

Doctors at the hospital said the wounds were serious, but not life threatening. The alleged perpetrator is in police custody assisting with the investigation.
 
In the second incident, a 25-year-old man from Hatton was attacked by a man armed with a knife.

The incident also took place on Joseph Lane on Wednesday, at around 3:30 pm.

The victim had reportedly been having a conversation with his friend when a man walked up and offered to sell them something.

After both men ignored him, the vendor allegedly took out a knife and stabbed the Hatton man in the right side of his back.

Doctors reported that the wound is serious, but not life threatening.
