Antigua St John's - The police are investigating a shooting incident over the weekend that left a 21 year old from Greenbay with a gunshot wound to his head.

Kadeem Lewis of George Street was said to be in critical condition after being shot late Saturday night. The incident took place at about 9 pm, near Lewis' home on George Street.

He had been sitting inside a vehicle with a friend when a gunman walked up and opened fire, shooting Lewis at close range. No one else was injured.

The police urged anyone with information to contact the Gray's Farm Police Station at 462-0481/562-6088, or call Crime Stoppers at 800-Tips (8477).

Meanwhile, the police are investigating a traffic accident at about 7:30 pm on Sunday on the Valley Road, near the Big Creek Bridge, involving a white Toyota Corolla, A70300, driven by 27-year-old Mark Azille of Clark’s Hill.

The vehicle had been heading east on Valley Road when the driver apparently lost control near the bridge, skidded off the southern side of the road, and collided into some boulders.

The vehicle overturned and landed on its side. The driver was taken to the hospital, where doctors reported that he may have suffered head injuries, and possibly a punctured lung.

Azille was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He is now a patient in the Intensive Care Unit.
