Stanley Turner, a resident of Parham, has been sentenced to one and a half years in prison for aggravated robbery, while Timothy Kitts, of Michael's Village, will be serving five years for the same offense.
Turner was convicted on March 9, while Kitts was convicted earlier, on February 11.
In the lower court, Tony Bright of English Harbour was fined $500 for possession of cocaine, and $500 for possession of cannabis. Magistrate Asquith Reviere ordered a part payment on or before March 10, and the remainder by March 31, or he will serve four months in prison.
The police are investigating a robbery at Fort Road at about 3 am on March 8, when an English Harbour man reported that he was robbed of $2,600 and US$100 at cutlass point by two masked men.
There was also a report of a break-in at a business place on Redcliffe Street sometime between 2:30 am on March 7 and 5 pm on March 8. The intruder stole $300, along with an audio pipe CD player mixer valued at $2,000, a Nu Mark equalizer valued at $3,000, one Louis the 13th liqueur valued at $3,000, one Johnny Walker Blue Label valued at $500, and two bottles of Gold Label valued at $300.
