Barbuda MP Praises PM and Shoul

Minister Walker and Non Resident Ambassador David Shoul Antigua St John's - Member of Parliament for Barbuda Trevor Walker has praised Non Resident Ambassador David Shoul and Prime Minister Spencer for their efforts to ensure the Barbuda Community Centre was completed.

During the opening ceremony for the facility, built by the Chinese at a cost of $3.1 M, Minister Walker said the facility symbolizes the government’s contribution to the process of nation building, and its commitment to ensuring that the environment engendered for the people of Barbuda comprises a just, inclusive, and sustainable society that works for all.

“I would like to recognise and place on record the unrelenting contribution and sterling efforts of our Non-Resident Ambassador to China Ambassador David Shoul," Walker said.

"I can personally attest to the fact that Ambassador Shoul has taken a keen interest in this project by ensuring that it got off the ground and was completed within a year.”

He added, “Ambassador Shoul will go down in history as the first non-resident ambassador to China that has facilitated a project on Barbuda during our 28 years of diplomatic relations with that country.

Ambassador Shoul, on behalf of the people of Barbuda, I would like to thank you for your perseverance and hard work in ensuring that this community centre was built and now handed over to the people of Barbuda. Thank you.”

“To Prime Minister Spencer, without your approval, this community centre would not have been built.

Thanks prime minister for your vision, and for ensuring that Barbuda is a part of the developmental programme of the state of Antigua & Barbuda. Thank you,” Minister Walker said.
The facility consists of a gymnasium, a library, meeting hall, IT room, and classrooms.

Notes From A Native Son Of The Rock. Hon Min. of Works & Transport, Raining on anyone's Parade is not Done in Polite Circles or as one Politico vying for SAM's Presidency said in "a Quiet Room". To consider, receiving Gifts an act of Nation Building seriously undermines Antigua & Barbuda's Independence. "Let Us Alone"
Many Natives of your fair land know that some 13 years ago, the Community had embarked on a plan to Build A Community Library, which included: Conference Centre, Education Centre, A Theatre, Internet Cafe Child Care and other Amenities. A Functional Program, Schematic and Design Development had been realized. The Land had been earmarked.

The Project was being designed by a team of International, Architects & Engineers and to be built with Native Labour. It was intended that Antiguan & Barbudan Project Manager, Architect and Engineer would manage the Construction and Inspection Processes.

Walker like Baldwin and all the other UPP supporters need to know that no matter who approaches the Chinese on behalf of these small island states will be successful.

The Chinese have a "world" agenda and they we just small pieces in a large puzzle. All of the OECS states are in the grasp of "neo-colonialis m" and it's going to take creative leadership to get us out.We have been reduced to BEGGARS! We beg Chavez, we beg Cuba and we beg China.

It is time that the great minds in the Caribbean break the silence and step to the fore...

The word 'politics' is derived from the word 'poly', meaning 'many', and the word 'ticks', meaning 'blood sucking parasites'. (Larry Hardiman)
