This RAS scandal is far from over, in fact I suspect that part two of twenty is about to be 'published'. The publication might even come from local media house, whose recent move into the posh surroundings created by RAS up at Coolidge has many eyebrows stuck in the raised position. One coincidence that keeps haunting me though. Errol Cort was RAS lawyer for the entire duration of his life and shenanigans in Paradise. Following the "bust" and RAS subsequent imprisonment, how/why was Andrea allowed to be living and WORKING here representing RAS interests? Who in the Ministry of Labour authorised her being granted a work permit? Cort again??!!

So Wide and **son, who were appointed by the Antiguan Courts, who are somehow independent from the Antiguan Government, are now working with that same government, according to their rules, despite yet unresolved issues of cooperation, involvement and profit from the crime by that same government.

Nice tidy little package.

I'd go long on pond water and widdly widdly bush.

And Wide and **son may want to look into forming their own partnership, I doubt Grant Thornton wants to be known as the Caribbean Arthur Anderson!!!

Speed Bump, the International Victims have no problem in Stanford workers receiving their severance pay first. Not only is that the law in Antigua but also Europe and the U.S. which makes it all the more amazing that Angela Shaw and her cohorts should be objecting so strongly to you receiving your severance.

I think your being a bit harsh accusing all the American investors of trying to avoid paying U.S. taxes while it may be true of a few I would like to believe the majority declared their income and were simply looking for somewhere to invest their money with the best interest rates.

Remember the people maligning Antigua and its government are Angela Shaw and the SVC, they are a minority but unfortunately the majority of victims have no voice so we work behind the scenes backing Grant Thornton and trying to correct the misinformation put out by Angela Shaw and the SVC.

Skywill, I totally agree with you. The severance for the local people who worked for SDC should be taken care of first. As a matter of fact, I do not understand why the US court is protecting the crying investors. They voluntarily engaged in offshore investment as a scheme to evade from paying US taxes. They all should actually be facing federal charges from the IRS for the unpaid capital gains taxes that they amassed in their Antigua accounts.

I heard that the representing the employees was selected by Stanford loyalists who truly believed that he is innocent and was framed so if they had pushed for severance they were basically pushing against him. They believed that he would soon return in grand style after suing the US and UPP govt and resume operations.

Difficult to understand but people died for Dudus and many others far worse than a schemer with RAS's charisma.

just give me what is do to me and my other co-workers. Serverance pay comes first, it is the law and time we start up-holding it. Oh yeah, let me not forget get rid of the lawyer representing the workers. I think his name is Cumberbatch, where is his representation in this whole thing.

I think the key thing to note here is the difference in how the SVC, Angela Shaw and the U.S. attorneys have behaved compared to SIVG and Grant Thornton when addressing Antigua.

Angela Shaw of the SVC started a Hate Campaign "Anti-crime, Anti-Antigua" and her Attorneys took out a ridiculous lawsuit at no time did they try and work with the Antigua government. In Fact quite the opposite Shaw started a campaign of misinformation against the Antigua government and Grant Thornton.

Contrast that with how SIVG and Grant Thornton have behaved. The SIVG have constantly fought to correct the misinformation regarding Antigua and its government while Grant Thornton has worked with the Antigua government to try and ensure both the victims and the people who worked for Stanford are treated fairly.

More good work by Grant Thornton who are working hard behind the scenes to ensure the victims are put first.

With Andrea Stoelker and Barbara removed we can look forward to the the SDC properties and assets being handed over to the Joint Liquidators Marcus Wide & Hugh **son for liquidation.

Angela Shaw, the SVC and Janvey should take note how an experienced International Liquidators operate!

Grant Thornton are aware of the situation and are working with the Antigua Attorney General on this matter. They have assured me that there is nothing for the Stanford Victims to be alarmed about and they will be issuing a statement when the time is appropriate.
Grant Thornton are executing a cooperative strategy which has borne fruit saving potentially millions in litigation costs and while giving up nothing to Stanford and his allies.
It's so nice to see that at least one of the Receivers (Liquidators) are doing their job and doing it well. Thank you Grant Thronton for all your hard work on behalf of the victims, you have brought new hope to many of us.

@ Osbert Federick, I know you are an ALP suporter and I have no problem with that, but the more I read your writings on this forum the more dissapointed I get and realize that Politricks has clouded your mind and i cant help but thinking dumb.... dumber and dumber..errrr. I respected you as my Typing Teacher at ASC but now i wonder... How can you compare the Wadadli Plant situation to Stanford's Ponzi Scheme for which he is now found guilty and serving a 110 year sentence. You appear to have sympathy for Standford and not for the hundreds he defrauded and the ramifications for this country in the past and what is still to come. Is it the policy of you and your party to support fraud and harbor criminals?? We should be distancing ourselves from Stanford and punch him as much as it is neccessary so that we dont go under with him.

Attorney General Justin Simon was very quick to say that in the next sitting of parliament he will be looking to bring Stoelker's management practices of the company under scrutiny. That is all well and good Mr. Simon, but why have you not been so quick to put under scrutiny the management of your government of the Wadadli Power Plant. Your silence on this issue has been deafening. You seem to get pleasure using Stanford as a punching bag, while you government continue to lie to the people and break the laws with impunity. Break the silence on the WPP, the fencing scandal and all the others. It is not just your job, it is your responsibility as the AG.
