Antigua St John's - Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee and opposition leader Lester Bird is writing to the auditor general and accountant general requesting all information about all dealings between the Government of Antigua & Barbuda and the Chinese company that facilitated the controversial Wadadli Power Plant.
“It would be necessary for us to really have all the information,” Bird told Caribarena.com on Tuesday.
He said Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer must understand that the people of the country need to know the truth.
As for the recent letter penned by Minister of Health Wilmoth Daniel outlining his disapproval of the government's handling of the situation, Bird said, “I agree completely with Mr Wilmoth Daniel to call upon the prime minister to call an investigation or inquiry into this whole question so that the people of the country could be satisfied."
Bird said the PM has "a fiduciary responsibility, a social contract, with the people of the country”.
Caribarena published Daniel's letter on Monday.

But it doesn't seem that we received 30MW at all.
one engine is not working, so we're down to 25mw, the others putting out 4mw instead of 5, which means we're down to 20mw.
Minus the transformer, and we reach to 15million US$ for a NEW powerplant . Taking into consideration that the fuel tank is sinking(probabl y below the water table by now), I would humbly suggest, that we didnt exactly get "value for money".

Re; Troubled
We got a 30MW without transformers, so 30 x $1M=$30M US less $5 M for transformers = $25M US.
From that, deduct whatever you would expect, for buying from China. Then deduct whatever you feel should come off, assuming the plant is used, antiquated and out of date.
