Antigua St John's - Members of the Kiwanis Club of St John’s, along with their colleagues from Division 27 of the Eastern Canada and Caribbean District, have been challenged to re-commit themselves to the basic principle of Kiwanis International - “Serving the Children of the World”.
The charge came from the St John’s president, Noel Browne, at the official dinner to observe the 97th anniversary of Kiwanis International.
Browne reminded members that in light of all the difficulties children are being exposed to, Kiwanians, as volunteers, should seek out ways to have a greater impact on our various communities. “We need to make a difference,” he said.
During the celebration, the host club made a special presentation to Chef Coleen Simpson, who has offered great support to the Kiwanis High Tea, the club’s annual major fundraiser.
Two new members were also inducted into the club Krystal Perry and Anna-Kay Johnson, two former members of Circle K Club, one of the Kiwanis-sponsored clubs.
