Kiwanis Installs New Board Antigua St John's - The Kiwanis Club of St John’s, Antigua installed its new board of directors on September 30 at the Bay House Restaurant in the Trade Winds Hotel.

The 2011/2012 board is made up of Noel Browne - president; Hollis Francis - vice president; Rosemarie Lake - secretary; Stevi Ann Simon - treasurer; Sharon Knight - immediate past president; and Doniza Alexander - president designate.

The directors are Joycelyn John, Shawn Nicholas, Erica Douglas, Hester Rose, and Carol Beazer.

The guest speaker for last Friday’s ceremony was Harold Lovell - minister of Finance & Economy and acting prime minister.

During his address, he emphasized that no economy can survive without service organisations such as Kiwanis, for the obvious reason that the government cannot do everything.

The Kiwanis Club of St John’s Antigua has a membership of over 30 people who believe that they can make a difference by fulfilling their motto of “Serving the Children of the World”. Anyone desirous of giving back to the community through such an organisation was encouraged to contact any member.

The club has been in existence locally for the last 13 years, and will begin its 14th year on October 1.
