Lions and Leos Install New Board

Antigua St John's - The Lions Club of Antigua has installed Lion R. Eural Baptiste II as its 44th president for the fiscal year of 2012/2013 at a formal installation ceremony at the Hotel Training Institute on June 30.

Baptiste has been an active member of The Lions Club for the past eight years. The theme for the 2012/2013-year is “United Through Service”.

The other members of the new board are:

1st Vice President Lion Reginald Peterson, 2nd Vice President Lion George Roberts, Secretary Lion Samantha Malone, Treasurer Lion Stephen Pilgrim, Tamer Lion Barbara Emard, Tailtwister Lion Septimus Rhudd MJF, Directors – Lions Leroy Warren MJF and Gladston Joseph MJF. 

The outgoing president is Lion Lenox Looby. 

Lion Robert “Bobby” Reis MJF conducted the installation.

 Another highlight of the evening was the naming of the Lion of the Year 2011/2012.

The recipient this year was Lion Stephen Pilgrim, who has performed above and beyond the call of duty.

The Leo Club of Antigua, the junior arm of the Lions, also installed new officers during the ceremony. 

Leo Tanya Williams was installed as the President, Leo Marissa Jackson - Vice President, Leo Eddianna Bontiff - Secretary, and Leo Shanise Francis - Treasurer.

The Leo president’s theme is, “Serving with a Passion”.

Since the club’s chartering in 1968, the Antigua Lions Club members have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, including weekly hot meals delivery, financial aid to persons with health related issues, prostate screening, and breast screening around the communities of Antigua, just to name a few.
