Seafood Fiesta Set For Next Month

Sea-food-fiestaAnother Seafood Fiesta is being planned. This time, the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Housing & the Environment is staging the 2nd Annual Post Independence Seafood Fiesta.

The food will be dished out beginning at noon on November 7 at the Urlings Wharf.

The Seafood Fiesta events were initiated last July as part of the government’s efforts to promote sustainable livelihood among fisherfolk.

The highlight of the event will be a seafood grill–off among chefs ranking from chef-de-partie to juniors. There will be live bands, boat tours, a toy sale and a fishing competition.

Fourteen vendors have so far been confirmed for the event. This time around, they have promised to serve up conch and seafood chowder, mixed shrimp and fish kebabs, lobsters, conchs water, lobster cakes, fish patties, and other delicacies.
