The award season has reached its peek, with one of the most important events: The Oscars. We brought a small recap of the big winners, and also the real fun stuff - The Red Carpet.
Here is a recap of the 84th Annual Academy Awards winners:
Best picture this year went to The Artist, directed by Michel Hazanavicius, who was also awarded Best Director. Actor in a Leading Role Winner was Jean Dujardin, also from the movie The Artist.
The Leading Lady this year was Meryl Streep, who won Best Actress in a Leading Role in The Iron Lady.
The Award for Actor in Supporting Role went to Christopher Plummer in the movie Beginners, and Actress in a Supporting Role was won by Octavia Spencer for her role in the movie The Help.
While the list of winners is interesting, most people watch this award show to see who was wearing what.
Let's begin with some of the failures of the evening.
Meryl Streep, who took home the award for best actress in the movie "Iron Lady," wore a dress that defia
ntly
resembled iron and the Oscar statuette. The dress did fit her well, but not so much that colour.
Last year, Natalie Portman looked stunning with a pregnant glow,
when she wore a beautiful purple dress and took our breath away.
This year, she chose something a little less classy: a strapless vintage dress by Christian Dior.
Although anything Natalie wears looks great on her, she disappointed.
The most bizarre look of the evening goes to Angelina Jolie.
At a first glance, all we could see was just another boring, strapless black dress,
but Angelina kept things interesting and made sure everyone would notice her long legs, but not in a ladylike way. Throughout the whole evening, she kept her legs apart to emphasize the extravagant split.
Men in Black:
In the men's category, we first noticed musician Pharrell Williams who looked immaculate in a three-piece suite and a velvet bow.
Second on the list is Steven Spielberg, who was not afraid of a high collar and a blue bow, which stood out from the crowd.
Those who Shined:
First is Michelle Williams, wearing a Louis Vuitton. The orange dress flattered her, and it wasn't just a "red dress".
Gwyneth Paltrow wore a very simple yet beautiful white dress by Tom Ford, under a white cape.
We also loved Octavia Spencer, who wore a dress by Japanese designer Todashi Shoji that really faltered her.
