Antigua St. John's - LIME, Antigua and Barbuda’s best-value network, delivered on the promise it made to honour 10 unsung heroes when it launched its “Christmas Blessings” initiative three weeks ago.
This initiative gave customers a chance to give a gift to an unsung hero in their community. The 10 winners were this week invited to the LIME’s headquarters to be presented with their gifts.
As part of its ‘Merry Moments Christmas’ campaign the company encouraged its customer to identify people within their respective communities who could readily be described as “selfless, giving and always put others ahead of themselves”.
From hundreds of entries nominated, a select group of 10 heroes were chosen to receive a merry moments Christmas Blessings from LIME.
The winning unsung heroes included such individuals like 13-year-old Daniel Carla Warner of Herbert’s who devotes her Saturdays to holding Saturday school in her backyard for the neighbourhood children; and Ms. Carol Ann Santos, who, for many years has been delivering Christmas and care packages in the true spirit of Christmas to those in need throughout Antigua and Barbuda.
The company’s winning unsung heroes were all surprised and overwhelmed when they were contacted live on-air. Many were moved when they listened to excerpts from the letters of appreciation and gratitude from persons who had nominated them for a Christmas blessing.
“Feel so special, I feel like I won the lottery. It’s nice to know that there are people out there that recognize the good that people are doing and I hope that a lot more people will jump on board and try and assist because there are so many people who need that type of assistance,” commented one of the winners, Carol–Ann Santos.
Marketing Manager of LIME Shand Merchant, who initiated the LIME Christmas Blessing, event indicated that the response from their customers was overwhelming. “It demonstrates the spirit of kindness and giving without expecting something in return is still very much alive in our communities.” He added that LIME was honoured to be able to celebrate such unsung heroes as part of its Merry Moments campaign.
Christmas Blessings included such well-deserved gifts as mobile phones, food hampers, $500 credit towards any LIME bill, $500 clothing voucher from The Source, jewellery from Colombian Emeralds, a weekend spa treatment, a dinner for two, a makeover at Mingles, Google Nexus tablets, and even a year's gym membership for 2013.
The Merry Moments Christmas campaign, which runs from November 15 to December 31, provides new and existing customers with many ways to win. Customers could win a Google Tab or a Beats Solo HD Headphone or an iPod Nano by making a call for 3 minutes (Talk XL) or by sending three text messages (Text XL). Customers who purchase of a BlackBerry 9920 or a Samsung Galaxy Y or signing-up for any post-paid service or upgrade any existing service could also win.
Customers who sign-up for any LIME postpaid service or pay any post-paid bills on time and in full, are all automatically entered in to win one of the items on offer. For more information customers may contact LIME’s customer care at 18008042994 or visit www.lime.com.
