Antigua St. John's - The Organization of Women of the Americas (OMA) is advancing the Amazing Grace Foundation’s mission to care for children living with disabilities by donating US$5,000 to the organisation.
The formal ceremony for this donation took place during the Women of the Americas Gala held at the Headquarters of the Organization of American States in Washington DC. At this event, the organisation’s First Vice President Dr Sylvia Charles, wife of the ambassador of Dominica, made the presentation to HE Dame Deborah-Mae Lovell, Antigua & Barbuda’s ambassador to the OAS and the United States of America.
Dr Charles explained that the profile of the foundation fit within the mandate of the OMA to assist institutions that support vulnerable women and children of the Americas. She added that another factor taken into account is the participation in the fund-raising efforts of the OMA by the country in which the beneficiary institution is located.
