AUA Students Donate to Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace Antigua St. John's - Residents of the Amazing Grace Foundation were greeted with a pleasant surprise on Friday as students from the American University of Antigua (AUA), first semester class of 2016, dropped by with a hefty donation of food supplies and financial contributions.

The donation was made to House Manager Desiree Williams. She told Caribarena that the institution received some EC$500 along with a complement of food items.

The donation came following a charity function held by the students on Thursday night. The House Manager told Caribarena that the school was indeed appreciative of the gesture, especially considering the “tough economic times.”

“It is very welcomed. We depend totally on donations so every little counts. The funds would be used for more food items,” she assured.

The kind-hearted students also opted to spend some time with the residents of the Home, getting to know the children and recording the moment.

“Some of the kids are not able to respond but those that were able to took pictures with the students and they certainly had a good time,” said the House Manager.

The students have pledged to make more donations in the future.

RE: AUA Students Donate to Amazing Grace

#1 SlyThatGuy » 2012-12-15 09:55

I applaud the generosity of those caring students from AUA (American University of Antigua). They did a wonderful job in donating their food and cash to the needy residents of the Amazing Grace Foundation. Now, just imagine of how beneficial it would be if other members of the community and businesses around the island were to follow the example of those students and make donation of food, cash,or other consumables to the Foundation. After hearing about so many negative things taking place on the island,I'm thankful for this positive new.
