Care Packages For The Needy

Antigua St. John’s - The Board of Guardians attached to the Ministry of Social transformation has begun the distribution of a number of care packages to vulnerable persons in the society.
General Manager of the Board of Guardians Roma Delfish said approximately 400 packages containing toiletries, laundry detergents, non-perishable foods and other grocery items will be handed out to eligible persons registered under the Board of Guardians programme.
Among those who stand to benefit are mental pauper patients, discharged lepers, vulnerable and eligible children under 14, and visually impaired persons.

Delfish explained that the programme was implemented in 2007 to assist the poor and destitute persons in Antigua & Barbuda.
The Home Improvement Grant Programme is another programme instituted by the government to offer assistance for home repairs for clients of the Board of Guardians.
