Antigua St. John's - The members of the Antigua & Barbuda Association of Central Florida recently made a generous donation to Mount St Johns Medical Centre. The donation consisted of a wide variety of toys including books, puzzles, video games, dolls, stuffed toys and other play items.
Children who arrive at MSJMC in need of care would sometimes each receive a special toy to help comfort them and calm their fears.
“When children come into MSJMC, our team appreciates having an age-appropriate toy to give them,” says Jeanie Batchelor, RN – Departmental Nursing Manager. “We’re grateful for these gifts; they comfort our littlest patients and often bring a smile.”
Pediatric patients who stay at the hospital on a long-term basis throughout the year are also given presents by the hospital staff as a way to cheer them up.
Said Leo Henry, President of the Antigua & Barbuda Association of Central Florida: “The members of association are very happy to have partnered with the hospital to bring cheer to the children in its care. Our aim is to continue to support our Antiguan and Barbudan sisters and brothers at home and around the world.”
If you or the organization you represent would like to make a donation to the hospital please call (268) 484-2711 or send an email to
