MSJMC Launches Bedside Book Programme

Antigua St John's - Donor Winston Phoenix has presented a book cart to the Mount St John’s Medical Centre. This forms an integral part of the hospital’s newly launched “Well Read… The Bedside Book Program”; an initiative focussed around improving the patient experience at MSJMC, as well as encouraging reading and improving literacy.
Head of Marketing & Communications at MSJMC Salma Crump said, “We’re so thankful to Mr Phoenix and his team for making this a labour of love - and for the anonymous donor who made all of it possible.
The plan is for this programme to be run by volunteers, and we’re expecting a new set (of volunteers) any time now, so the timing could not be better. We’ve been collecting books for a long time, so we’re ready to get things going.”

The book cart will make daily rounds and will contain a selection of books available for inpatients at the hospital.
