Antigua St John's - Mount St John’s Medical Centre (MSJMC) and Mindful Movements have teamed up to offer the community the Fitness and Lifestyle Program, described as "a unique approach to helping people build lifelong healthy attitudes about food and fitness".
The program is an eight-week curriculum of fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle changes, and runs from February 6 to March 30.
Classes will be held at MSJMC. To register, contact the MSJMC Marketing Dept at (268) 484-2700 ext. 2251 or 2711. Space is limited to 30 – 35 participants. The cost of the full programme is $250.
The programme, a release said, is designed for adults and consists of a health screening, fitness classes four days per week, and other educational sessions guided by a registered dietician and other health professionals. The programme focusses on behaviour changes, intertwined with fun, activity, and support.
“People come in all shapes and sizes, and that’s determined by your genes, but your good health and well-being is largely dependent on you and how active you are, plus the amount and kinds of food you consume each day," said Samantha Moitt, registered dietitian, and manager of Dietary Services at MSJMC.
