Antigua St John's - Nineteen representatives from various agencies completed a four-day workshop on emergency telecommunications last week.
The sessions, conducted by Director of National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) Philmore Mullin, and ham operators from the Amateur Radio Club Jeff Martin and Leroy Depeiza, ended on Thursday.
Participants were taken through the various aspects of disaster management and basic set-up and operation of VHF, HF, and UHF radios, which are convenient during disasters especially when other means of communication are inoperable.
