Antigua St John's - The Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Environment Division, completed a tree planting exercise in the Ffryes Beach Area on Tuesday, November 29.
Thirty trees were planted. These included seaside mahoe, mahogany, and cashew.
The tree planting was one of the activities that coincided with this year's Tourism Week activities in an effort to further enhance the area.
This marked the first phase, while the next step to follow shortly is the installation of picnic benches and signage at strategic locations along the beach.

Who is on First or Who is Batting?
DCA? Public Works? The Environmental Division? Who's Vision? Who's Action Plans? Where is the National Parks Board? No one has a DaXm Clue. Strategy, Goals and Objectives. They need to be Specific, Measureable, Attainable, Realistic & Trackable with Responsibilty and Accountability in one agency. Nothing is Sustainable because we keep getting it so wrong. At the lower reaches of the Tanner Street stone protected ditch, built over 70 years ago by the Colonial Engineers, is a hole getting larger and larger with every major water dscharge and flow from the retention pond - Country Pond. No one cares. No Agency is Responsible. No Ministry is Accountable. Life Goes On! Just as Fryes, it is the Photo Op and forget Responsibility & Accountability. Public Works is MIA.
Get rid of SJDC and create a Municipality of St. Johns.
Look at The City. "Do you see something fe feel good?" Look at the Environs - Point, Villa, Yorks, Ovals, Michaels Village, Ottos, Grays Farm, Green Bay, Cooks - "Do you see something fe feel good?"
