Antigua St John's - The West Indies Oil Company (WIOC) reported on Tuesday night that it had made good progress in cleaning up a jet fuel spill which had contaminated the McKinnons Pond.
A release said, "Management again regrets any inconvenience caused, especially in the neighboring communities where the leak occurred, and will continue to monitor developments in the area and issue updates as necessary."
A pipeline ruptured on Tuesday, releasing jet fuel into the drain that leads to the pond.
The company was able to stop the source at the leak, and dispatched personnel to the Yorks and Mckinnons areas to assess the effects.

That final comment is the one that got me
The company assured that the incident would not affect its ability to provide regular service to customers.
Seriously? What about the birds that nest in McKinnons pond? What about the fish? No concern whatsoever!

Need a second opinion
Why should we accept the word of the perpetrator at face value?
Perpetrator: "Honest officer, I was just walking down the street with my knife and that guy backed into me......4 times".

Inconvenience, BS crime more like !!!
What folks do not seem to get id these cases put a few toxins into the ecosystem, little bit, little bit little bit and then there come the consequences! Cancers, birth defects, poor development etc and I recognize I am speaking very generally.
This is one of the reasons that climate change is underway, a natural process that has been accelerated hugely!
