This generation dont know jazzy b, soul 2 soul or Eric Clapton. He is a NATIVE promoting this country. That's why the extra hospitality. Coulda gone any island but he came back here. Do you think I asked for all this stuff, no so don't blame him for your government decisions

You Caribarena bloggers bring politics into everything. We know that you all hate the UPP, but keep it out of tourism. You might have never heard of JLS because most of Antigua's media comes from the USA. But this band has sold over 2 million records, they have 1,685,210 likes on FB, and 591,358 followers on twitter. Thats more clout that Tian, Claudette and Tizzy combined could get Antigua. So stop the hating!

Greetings peeps, I too, have never heard of the group, but then again I have never heard of hundreds of entertainers who are popular. The entertainment industry is a trillion dollar one, and if we, in our Nation, where there are natural talent's abounding can harness, mold, nuture these, we can steer some of our wanton youths into a more positive light. Police is often used as security but at the expense of the promoter/produc tion team. Can they promote our Nation in a positve light? SURE, MOS DEF. Great news for Antigua.. One of the most popular bands in the UK. Big respect to JB and the other guys.
I am not sure what was the reasoning behind the police Escort?
Antigua reward accolades from bottom to top, rather than from the top to the bottom.
Jazzy B and Soul 2 Soul has sold 60 million Albums world wide. Over the last 8 years, Back to Life has bought around 200 people to Antigua on a yearly visit. The visit is consist of 1 week of activities, where locals and tourist are able to attend.
What is JLS bringing to Antigua? 16 people on a one off visit? Where is Jazzy's police Escort? Has been awarded an Ambassador role?
Eric Clapton has a rehab and a house in Antigua, has probably sold more records overall than Jazzy? Eric a great promoter for Antigua in more ways than one. Both Jazzy and Eric employ full time staff in Antigua (regardless if they are on Island) Constantly supporting our Economy.
Where are the out riders when they arrive?
Get with the program Colin.. The people who contribute to real development of Antigua, gets know acknowledgement s. We will never progress with this sort of bias attitude.

have to agree with GC. This government has almost no money for fisheries so their (paper only) marine parks, no money for for coast guard to do what they want to and need to do, almost no money for tourism marketing, almost no money for port authority boat maintenance, almost no money for environment division, and the list goes on.... how and why do they spend money on these police escorts? I think the people of Antigua are less safe on the roads with them zooming by and overtaking around corners. The passengers (VIPs) are way less safe. This silly policy must stop.

"Whisked away in a Police escorted limousine"??? Really??? Was that even necessary??? And at the expense of taxpayers!!! Whisked away from who by the way???

I've never even heard of this group until now, (not that it makes a difference), and I'm quite sure that they would have been safe getting to the hotel with a regular car and driver like everyone else, without anyone even knowing who they were, let alone even bothering them. This would be unheard of in the US. Citizens would have been outraged and someone on the force would have taken severe heat for that. Once again, only in Antigua where everything is done backwards and twisted with no accountability.

Taxpayers' dollars should have been used more efficiently. These policemen who were used as "bodyguards" should have been at work trying to help solve the so many "unsolved" crimes in Antigua. Get your priorities straight people!!!
