A free concert at the Multipurpose Cultural & Exhibition Centre tonight will signal a new partnership forged between El-A-Kru and telecommunications provider Digicel's EDGE networ.
“We are thrilled that EL-A-KRU, featuring Tizzy, have joined the Bigger, Better Network!” said Marketing Manager for Digicel Antigua Troy Byrne. “EL-A-KRU has a strong pedigree on the
local, regional and international music scene and there is great synergy between both brands."
In turn, El-A-Kru Manager Rohan “Sylky” Hector said, “This is a partnership that will do great things for a great nation. Our emphasis is on representing Antigua and Barbuda at the highest level, and matched with Digicel's commitment to excellence, we will be a quite a formidable force!”
Lead vocalist Tanzania "Tizzy" Sebastian added, "I’m really looking forward to this new chapter for myself and the band. Two great brands coming together to make one great team.”
According to the release, the partnership will involve a number of marketing campaigns and initiatives over the next 18 months. No further details were released.
The band's single, Antigua Nice, was dubbed "Antigua’s new anthem," and used extensively in the Ministry of Tourism's customer care initiative for the 2007 Cricket World Cup.
