Antigua St John's - In early 2011, the idea of a national music awards was proposed to the Prime Minister. He liked the idea so much that he charged the idea’s architect Mr. Joe Martin with making it a reality.
That initial idea has since evolved into a full-blown, multi-event festival the Caribbean Arts, Literature & Music (CALM) Festival--that kicks off in December of 2011, and is slated to become an annual, self-sustaining festival in future.
To facilitate the planning, development and management of the festival, a committee was formed, was endorsed by the government and the rest as they say is history.
Our first major event, Yuletide Pan-tasee… Life in the Keys of Pan, will be hosted on Sunday 18th December from 3:00pm at Fibrey in the parking lot opposite the Australian Ice Cream Parlor.
Come on out bring your family and see church bands school bands. Enjoy pan, pan-jazz, spoken word, comedy and more.
