Antigua St John's - Dynamics mas troupe staged what band leader Erna-Mae Tonge-Hurst described as a "very successful" launch of its 2011 Carnival designs on Saturday.

Staged at Splash Antigua, adjacent to Miller’s By The Sea, the event attracted scores of people, including many longtime revellers.

This followed concerns from Tonge-Hurst last week about the effect of the Carnival Development Committee's decision to launch this year's Carnival queens on the same date, at the same time.

With an appropriately decorated stage and the effects of lights, music, and a big screen audio/visual display, Dynamics unveiled the 11 sections that form part of its 2011 presentation, dubbed "Safari".

The sections featured what one would encounter on an African safari, including animals, rain forests, rivers, waterfalls, and a variety of birds.

The depiction of each section was warmly greeted by the audience. The mas troupe also announced that its longstanding sponsor, LIME, is continuing its partnership, while AS Bryden is also a major sponsor.
