Calypso Semi-Finalist Announced Antigua St. John's - The Carnival Development Committee on Sunday announced the names of the Semi-Finalist for the Calypso Competition following three days of competition at the Golden Eye, Swallows and CDC tents.

The Semi-Finalist are:

2. De Pan Man
3. Dr. Solo
4. Faithful
5. Kaseba
6. Kimmie
7. King Bandit
8. King Fiah
9. Lord Satalyte
10. Mighty Yankee
11. Princess Thalia
12. Queen Gee Bee
13. Queen Singing Althea
14. Redding
15. Richie Francis
16. Scorpion
17. Young Destroyer
18. Zacari

The group of 18 will commence rehearsals with the All Star Band under the direction of Randell Pyle at the Lexus Lawn on Market Street on Monday 16, July.

The Semi-Finals competition will be held on Sunday 22 July at Lexus Lawn commencing at 8 pm. Admission $20.

I think this year is Singing Althea's year...she has two classical pieces. Anyways congratulations to everyone who made it but although i am rooting for althea i will not underestimate that scorpion..
