Antiguan writer Floree Williams, author of Pink Teacups and Blue Dresses, will be launching her second book Through the Window.
A reserved but poignant personality, Williams has created a novel that will appeal to teenagers and young adults, with just enough spunk, suspense, and romantic indulgence to keep her readers turning pages until the very end.
Set in Antigua, the novel follows the love and social life of main character Anya, who finds herself the focus of not only two possible love interests, but also the venomous spite of rivals.
A light, fun read, Williams’ characters will make you easily fall in love with them. Covering a demographic that is still untapped in Antiguan literature, Through the Window gives some insight into the lives of young adults in Antigua and Barbuda.
The launch will take place on Thursday, November 4, at the Best of Books Royal Palm branch on Friars Hill Road. The evening will be hosted by media personality Marcella Andre, and feature readings from the novel by 2009 Queen of Carnival Shelana George, 2010 Teen Splash second runner-up Abi McCoy, and author Joanne Hillhouse.
