Antigua St John's - Students from four schools were encouraged to consider working in environmental fields during the second annual Careers Day on Thursday at the Multipurpose Cultural Centre.
Officials set the platform for the student to exchange ideas with professionals, and retrieve information on summer internship and possible projects.
The day was organised as part of the ongoing Environment Cadet Programme under the theme, “Green Opportunities".
Environment Education Officer Arica Hill said, “The critical thing is also engaging youth. We want them to move their passion for the environment beyond their high school experience. We want their lives to change as a result of activities such as these."
About 70 students attended from Jennings Secondary, St Mary’s Centre Of Excellence, Antigua Grammar School, and Pares Secondary.
Presenters came from the government, along with private organisations. Youth volunteers provided students with information, career advice, and potential career, job, and volunteer opportunities.
