Antigua St. John’s - Five prospective project managers interested in seeing the long awaited National Library through to completion were given a tour and a chance to meet with select members of the Board of Education last Thursday.
It is expected that before the end of September, one one them will be selected to direct the project forward.
Executive Secretary of the Board of Education D. Gisele Isaac-Arrindell told Caribarena that contrary to previous estimations, the Board has not yet been able to identify the individual who will be handed the job.
She said a selection process that started with a notable number of interests was finally narrowed down to five last week.
Those individuals, with the exception of one, are all integrally involved in construction and project management in Antigua & Barbuda with varying levels of experiences.
“We have not been able to name a new project manager. There was a meeting with five candidates who have toured the site on Thursday,” she said.
They met with the library’s architect and engineer as well as Chairman of the Board of Education and select directors who are also members of the building committee.
