Antigua St. John’s – More than 50 children participating in the Kings Assemblies Vacation Bible School were urged to make positive choices to avoid alcohol and other drug-related stimulants.
With the aim of creating positive behavioural change amongst young people, officers from the Substance Abuse Prevention Division in the Ministry of Social Transformation held motivational talks with the group at the Greenbay Primary School on Tuesday.
The participants, aged 5 to16 years, also viewed a 22-minute video that highlighted the effects of substance abuse that involve drugs such as cocaine, heroin, alcohol, marijuana, and nicotine.
Following the viewing, the youngsters were given the opportunity to express their opinions during an interactive session.
