School Uniform Grant Programme Begins Monday

School Uniform Grant Programme Begins MondayAntigua St. John’s – This being the eighth consecutive year since its inception, the 2012 School Uniform Grant Programme (SUGP) will begin on Monday, July 9.

SUGP Supervisor, Leonie Martin said the final preparations are being made ahead of Monday, to include the training of 15 assistants who will attend to beneficiaries of the programme.

Martin said there are no new requirements and the process will continue as in previous years. However, like last year, vouchers will be issued for only one pair of regular uniform per student. This, she stated, is as a result of the global recession and the need to cut back.

Parents accessing the programme are reminded that it is important for them to meet the requirements in order to obtain the uniform vouchers.

For new Antiguan applicants, a birth certificate or passport should be presented on behalf of the student, along with a letter of admission from the school the child will attend. The student should be five years old by March, 2013. Also, the parents of the new Antiguan students must present a valid passport, drivers licence, or voter’s identification card.

The school report for existing Antiguan students under the programme must be presented, while parents must present a national picture identification card.

Meantime, a valid passport and school letter must be presented on behalf of non-national students accessing the SUGP for the first time. Parents of those students must present a valid passport.

For existing non-national students, a valid passport and school report must be presented on their behalf, while parents of those students must present a valid passport.

Distribution of SUGP vouchers will take place from Monday through Thursday 8:30 to 4 pm, and on Fridays from 8:30 to 3 pm.

Recipients will be issued a list of vendors on receipt of the vouchers.

Noblesse Oblige - Living In The IMF's NEST!

#1 John French II » 2012-07-06 04:51

Notes From A Native Son Of The Rock. Quote:
One must act in a fashion that conforms to one's position, and with the reputation that one has earned.
The Rationale: Quote:
This, ... is as a result of the global recession and the need to cut back.
This School Uniform Grant Programme Supervisor follows the GoAB Talking Points to the letter T oblivious to Living In The IMF's NEST and Four Years of A&B's Depression. The North Atlantic Privateers suggest: Quote:
noble ancestry constrains to honorable behavior; privilege entails to responsibility
The Electorate suggest: Quote:
Leaders have responsibilities to lead, manage and so on. One was not to simply spend one's time in idle pursuits.
After many more months of work, all the bureaucrats came back to him, and they had come to a unanimous conclusion that the wisdom of the IMF could be put into a four-word sentence. They told the Good Hon. Dr. PM that this sentence expresses much. It is chastening in the hour of pride and consoling in the depths of afflictions. ... The sentence of their wisdom was: Quote:
"This too shall pass." - 1 Corinthians 10:12
