It would be such a shame. The irrevocable significance of the village of Bethesda to the educational history of Antigua and Barbuda must never be erased by those who, at best, are simply ignorant of the historical development in education in our beloved country or at worst, are drunk from the wine of Willie Lynch and Machiavelli.

There is usually more in the mortar than the pestle. This is not the first time that the 'rumour' has been planted out there. Back in 2004/05 the same 'rumour' was making the rounds. The lameduck response from the Ministry of Education pointed to the new policy of a new government who was toying (literally) with the idea of combining Bethesda, Newfield and Freetown Primaries into one primary school ostensibly to allow for more effective use of resources - the schools were considered too small. The idea was shelved/the rumour dissipated and life went on as per usual. And now, some eight years later, the rumour is making the rounds. Parents in Bethesda, take out your S.O.S. (save our school) boots again, because I can assure you, you'll get no straight-forward/honest answers. This 'rumour' was last seen, at a certain party headquarters getting a complete make over in the psychological weapons department...to be used...just in case.

I think you should contact the Ministry of Education with this question; the secretary or some responsible person in that department would be the best person who can answer this question.
