It is puzzling to me that Antiguans show such little interest in the health and future of our island. Here it is that we have a possible USD$100MIL Beaches project by Sandals slated for the island and we find that our best position is to seek to set-back and ultimately stop the project.
We have lost a major investor - Stanford, we have lost millions in savings - CLICO and British American. But instead of seeking new light and opportunities for the country, we continue to let "THOSE" who should be seek what is best for us, fill our foolish heads with small minded approach. We live on and island we survive via tourism. Our sons and daughters eat and are educated as well sell our resources to those who wish to travel to enjoy our beaches, this is our reality. Now we are faced with those who only seek political power and gain saying to us, lets fight against new jobs, lets fight against a better future, lets instead stick to the past. Woe it is to Antigua and Barbuda if we do not see that we are about to loose the race. We see St. Lucia, Dominica and Barbados of course continuing to make strides in tourism as they recognize what must be done. We do not see the threats of Cuba and the Dominican Republic clearly, as the offer a cheaper and at times higher quality product. Why do WE MY PEOPLE not fight for the future of our country and continue to listen to the bickering of the ALP and the UPP, both parties which have shown little care for country first. We know the stories, and yet we rather ask for $100.00 than hold them to task for our interest. Where is our national pride and why do we not let those who are "IN POWER" know that they work for us, we do not work for them!
