CLICO Insurance Bought by Sandridge

Antigua St John's - CLICO General Insurance will now be known as Sun General Insurance, after the company was purchased by Sandridge Limited.

Hotelier Bernie Weatherhead signed the papers last Friday on behalf of Sandridge, while CLICO Holdings was represented by Terrence Thornhill. The deal reportedly followed a year-and-a-half of legal discussions.

No figure was given for the selling price.

 Sandridge was previously a CLICO agent. CLICO operates in Antigua & Barbuda, Anguilla, Barbados, St Kitts & Nevis, Dominica, Grenada, St Lucia, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Weatherhead told the Daily Nation, “Sun General Insurance will come into effect across the Caribbean during the course of this week. I want to assure present clients of CLICO General Insurance and those with any outstanding claims that they are protected 100 per cent by Sun General."
