Antigua St John's - The State Insurance Corporation (SIC) and the Antigua Trades and Labour Union (AT&LU) will be addressing redundancy concerns on Monday during a meeting requested by the SIC.
SIC, according to correspondence received by Caribarena.com, invited AT&LU General Secretary Alrick Daniel to “a very important meeting to discuss some vital issues regarding the possible redundancy, to take place within the Corporation".
The letter was sent out on January 23, but the parties could not agree on a date until February 6.
The AT&LU’s Dave Joseph said although the union welcomed SIC's initiative in calling for a meeting, “We are just going to hear what they have to say.”
"We believe there are some employees that the Corporation would like to see the back of," he said.
"But we are going to hear what they have to say, put that with what we know, then go from there.”
