LIAT's management yesterday sought to allay fears that one of its planes had crashed. The airline's communications officer, Desmond Brown, said rumours had been circulating over the past 24 hours, particularly out of Barbados, about an alleged accident involving one of its aircraft.
"The airline wishes to indicate that there is no truth to such reports," he said.
In addition, he noted that "LIAT calls upon the perpetrators of this hoax to desist from this deplorable action which has been the source of great concern to those who have heard it."
