Internal Changes at ABIA

ABIAAntigua St John's - The Antigua Barbuda Investment Authority (ABIA) has undertaken some internal reform intended to enhance the way services are delivered.

These changes, it has said, were driven by the desire to achieve optimum performance, and to fully integrate economic planning and development as part of the agency’s mandate.

The new position of marketing director has been filled, along with reassignments in portfolios. According to a release, this will allow the ABIA to more efficiently and effectively reach out to potential investors domestic and international.

Sascha Mercer joined the management team on May 1, and is responsible for marketing, investment promotions and public relations. Henderson Fields has been appointed as the ABIA’s chief financial officer, while continuing as head of the Facilitation Department. Fitzmaurice Christian now holds the portfolio of business development & planning.

Celia Roberts joined the ABIA team a month ago as office manager, while Jacqueline Yearwood continues as the director of the Enterprise Development Department and Lestroy Samuel holds the position of executive director.

The Antigua Barbuda Investment Authority marked its 5th anniversary in May.

The Antigua & Barbuda Investment Authority was created by the government of Antigua & Barbuda to promote and attract domestic and foreign investment to the nation.
