New Month for Marine AGM

Antigua St John's - The Antigua and Barbuda Marine Association, which represents the yachting industry in Antigua &Barbuda (ABMA), under the leadership of chairman Franklyn Braithwaite, will hold its annual general meeting on Thursday May 15.

According to Braithwaite, “After careful consideration, the board of the ABMA made a decision that it would move the yearly AGM from its normal slot in January. This is to help facilitate business owners focusing on their international customers who are on island during that time and preparation for the ongoing season."
 
The new May slot was agreed as the ideal date, as it falls after the international regattas and show season in Antigua, and before most organisations begin their overseas marketing for the following season.

Those invited to attend are current members of the ABMA, along with any people or businesses interested in joining the association, or with an interest in the industry and its future.
 
The association is working on a 2013 Marine and Yachting Event Calendar which will be available to anyone wishing to promote the destination overseas, as well as with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority and the Ministry of Tourism on continued yachting destination promotions over the coming months.
