CUB CEO Vere Hill ResignsAntigua St. John's - Caribbean Union Bank has announced that its Chief Executive Officer, Vere Hill, tendered his resignation in order to pursue other career opportunities.

The Bank’s Corporate Secretary, Hollis Francis Jr, reported that the Board agreed to accept Mr Hill’s notice in order to allow him to follow new paths of business.

Sad situation but there is are always three sides to any story

#13 Observer.. » 2013-01-10 16:19

Was saddens me is that this is the 3rd Antiguan banker that resigned from their post. And these are what we call young bright Antiguans men. It was first so at Scotia, then ABIB now CUB. And I am surprise to see that the deputy was a formal BOA Banker and I believe went on retirement not to long ago. The economy cannot absorb these highly educated professionals. The UPP has mash up that part of the economy. So what happens next is that they will look for government handouts. The minister will have to give them a job. And that than makes them dependent on the politician again. Which is exactly what the politicians want. Young bright individuals that cannot stand on their own. Sad Sad Sad development in this country. I would rather leave my country than to beg a politician for a job.

All news does not have to be bad news...

Congrats to Mr. Hill, he paid his dues to the corporations, I am sure at times biting his tongue but in the process put himself in a position where he can resign and move on to forging his very own destiny. I am sure there are many persons who wish they could be in that seat.

All the very best in your future endeavours!

Can we all look behind the curtain for a second? Why is one of the most competent and well educated professionals/b ankers leaving an institution run by a board. Made up of illiterate and semi-illiterate members and a has-been manager who ECAB had the foresight to let go?
