A competition open to photographers, dubbed Arts in Motion, was launched during a ceremony at the British High Commission in Bridgetown, Barbados last week.
“Picture Barbados” and “Caribbean Mirror” were the two competitions launched -- one to celebrate what is Bajan and the other to encourage photographers all around the Eastern Caribbean and further afield to use their cameras to tell stories, a release from the British High Commission outlined.
The competitions are another aspect of the Summer Arts Festival, held recently at the Hastings Rocks, Christ Church, Barbados.
During the ceremony, veteran Barbadian photographer Ronnie Carrington said the main objective of Arts in Motion is “to bridge the gap between the world of the arts and the world of business, and to assist people in making a profit from their photographic passion.”
