Antigua St. John’s - Art At The Ridge is inviting entries for its 2012 Christmas Card Competition from persons in the 7 to 19 age group in Antigua & Barbuda.
Following in the footsteps of the Bank of Antigua and the Museum of Antigua & Barbuda, which originally created this popular annual competition, Art At The Ridge has taken on the mantle to continue to run this event again this year, having done so for the first time in 2011.
Art At The Ridge is keen to encourage creativity among Antigua & Barbuda’s youngsters and anticipates continued enthusiastic participation in this event.
The Ministry of Education has already been informed of this competition and they have been invited to encourage the island’s schools to participate. Parents are also invited to encourage their children to submit artwork directly if their school is unable to participate.
Competition entry rules are available from Art At The Ridge and the deadline date for submission of artwork is Wednesday 31 October 2012.
As in previous years, artwork will be judged by six age groups. There are prizes to be won and the winning artwork will be reproduced as Christmas cards, which are eagerly anticipated every year. They are sold all over the island and many are then sent overseas where they receive further recognition and acclaim.
The artistic standard of the competition is high and has led to further artistic endeavours by previous winners.
