  • James Hails Sir Gerald's Victory
Antiguan Abroad says: "fnpsr - Good to hear from you. Actually, that is the law I (and I believe Tenman) was referring to....the recent amendments to the Representation of the People Act. I believe Parliament can amend this (and any) law, as long as the amendments do not contravene the Consititution."
  • Stanford Prosecution Completes Third Witness
Victims says: "So we free him and tell the 20,000 people whose money he was spending like crazy that it was just tough luck? Many of these persons are old people who invested their retirement savings so that they can live off of the interest. Others have children to send to college, or medical expenses. Their only crime was that they trusted an institution and a name because of the well ochestrated con that fooled almost everyone except the few like the Analyst. But I suppose to those that got some gravy at other people's expense, he was a good man like Dudus."
  • UPP Reacts to Court Decision
fnpsr says: "What part of illegal, illogical, arbitrary, unreasonable and null and void does the good Senator not understand? Her comment reminds me of the comment made by MP Baptiste when Justice Blenman ruled in the election case. I would recommend that the politicians think before they open their mouths. "Let's fix the little things before we attempt to fix the big things.""
  • Convicted Murderer Expresses Regret
ET says: "HANG HIM. Can't feel sorry for him."
  • PM to Sign Agreement With Martinique
Me says: "why doesn't the PM stay home for at least one week and deal with the problems at home? just one week."
  • UPP Reacts to Court Decision
Flunky says: "Don't worry Joanne, as long as the cheese keeps coming everything is all right!"
  • James Hails Sir Gerald's Victory
fnpsr says: "Antiguan Abroad, I agree with you. Not, to steal your thunder, but I was wondering how this decision would affect the recent changes to the Representation of the People's Act. "Let's fix the little things before we attempt to fix the big things.""
  • James Hails Sir Gerald's Victory
Antiguan Abroad says: "Tenman - Thanks for your feedback. Actually, the judgment does make more practical sense if the proposed law has not yet taken effect. If the judge's decision precedes the new law, then you are right...Watt is retroactively (and currently) the chairman of the existing commission, and all prior acts of the commission headed by his replacement are null and void. However, I believe it is within the right of the UPP to go ahead and establish the newly proposed law once it was passed in Parliament.....thereby making Mr. Watt's victory short-lived. It will be interesting to see on what basis the ALP will challenge the new electoral law, since I do not believe there is a constitutional issue. But we will see."
  • UPP Reacts to Court Decision
Brown Sugar says: "Antigua, Antigua what have happen to our beautiful little Antigua? am so upset and disturb how educated people could become slaves of ignorance it is such a pity. Joan how much worse can Antigua get under your government? As educated adults you guys are acting so improper that you all should be ashame of yourselves, Antigua is a free democratic country and our country have laws that should be abided by and when a goverment representative is going to say the legal system is wrong because it is not in your favor, what exactly are you say it is okay to break the law if it is in your favor? come on people, you took on this job to protect our country and it's people, you are our representatives the people are the government and we the people elected you not the other way around. Antiguans you need to stand up and take your country back this is our country not UPP country and when I say this no violence all peace all the time but up must get rid of these people our country is only a 108 square miles and the corruption is larger than the island. Rise Antiguans rise, it's our country"
